Legal Counsel providing commercial legal and regulatory advice for Paysafe's payment processing business. Collaborating with internal teams and managing external legal counsel globally.
Responsibilities
Provide general, commercial legal and regulatory advice to a UK FCA/Irish CBI regulated electronic money and acquiring payment processing business globally
Advice the operations office in Bulgaria on general corporate work, employment and commercial matters
Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements with customers and suppliers, ensuring with customers and suppliers, ensuring alignment with approved business cases and organizational policies
Provide advice to the business teams on the applicable legal and regulatory framework in the relevant territories
Advise business teams on legal aspects of new product development and delivery channels
Instruct and manage external legal counsel globally, as needed
Address general or ad-hoc commercial legal queries from internal business stakeholders
Develop and maintain departmental procedures to facilitate legal operations while upholding internal controls and stakeholder involvement
Active collaboration within the Paysafe legal team
Requirements
Degree in legal science or commercial law required
2-4 years of post-qualified professional experience in an internationally active law firm or corporate legal department
Demonstrated legal expertise with successful results in one or more complex areas of the law (preferably engaged in the provision and/or regulation of financial services or e-commerce), commercial law/contractual law and general business law
Experience in dealing directly with business clients at all levels
Superb drafting and communication skills in English
Candidate must be able to negotiate and draft in English without assistance
Strong familiarity with financial industry and services regulation and/or e-commerce
Proficient MS Office.
