Contract Administrator leading construction phases on municipal water/wastewater and civil projects in Brampton office. Ensuring compliance and managing contracts with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Monitor compliance with quality and quantity control measures and contractual obligations between EXP and the Client.
Demonstrated proven ability to read drawings for municipal linear and vertical projects.
Prepare various internal reports, correspondences, and other status reports for assigned projects.
Monitoring project budget, expenses, payment terms, and other financial obligations.
Review Contractor submissions (critical path schedules, change proposals, etc.) for compliance with contractual obligations and advise Client and Contractor accordingly.
Negotiate change orders and pricing issues and construction claims.
Prepare agendas, attend meetings, take minutes of meetings.
Review quantities for payment certificates, coordinate with Field Staff, process Contractor’s payments and review claims.
Coordinate review of shop drawings and RFIs.
Confirm the appropriate qualifications and certifications for all contractor employees, resources, and equipment.
Review environmental and traffic control plans installed and advised of any discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with design standards, building codes, Ontario Provincial Standard.
Site inspection as needed and daily reporting of Contractor’s work in compliance with OPSS /OPSD and other standards as well as OHSA and other related laws.
Provide updates and reports to Project Manager and Director.
Requirements
At least 10 years’ experience with a focus on the construction phase of projects such as tunnelling, watermains, storm and sanitary sewer, municipal roads, pumping stations and water/wastewater treatment plants.
P.Eng. or CET designation is required and similar project experience.
Ability to work independently and in team environment.
Sound technical, industrial and building knowledge, strong understanding of codes, and familiarity with construction practices.
Positive attitude and attention to detail.
Excellent and proven written and oral communication skills.
Collaboration with stakeholders including clients, contractors, approval agencies, residents and businesses.
Valid G driving license in Ontario.
Travel will be required to project sites and meetings.
