About the role
- Accounting Manager overseeing EMEA finance function at Evident Europe, managing closing activities and compliance with local and IFRS standards. Collaborating closely with HR and external partners for payroll and auditing.
Responsibilities
- Coordination of closing activities between internal functions, the CAO in Singapore, and Infosys as our external service provider for accounting transactions
- Close collaboration with EMEA Finance, Treasury and Tax departments
- Ownership of and close business partnering with HR on payroll and pension accounting
- Account and subledger reconciliations
- Management of deferrals and accruals
- Management of external service providers for IFRS-to-local GAAP translation (where required in our branch locations)
- Coordination of the end-to-end audit process with E&Y
- Regular updates to local management on key variances in the balance sheet, P&L and cash flow statements versus prior year and budget
- Support for global systems and process harmonization (e.g., OneStream implementation, travel & expense, cash pooling, credit & collections, etc.)
- Active engagement in improvement initiatives (e.g., working capital optimization, simplification and automation of MEC processes, etc.)
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting with a focus on IFRS / HGB (German GAAP)
- Minimum 7 years of experience in comparable roles
- Proven track record in managing closing, consolidation and audit processes
- Practical management-level experience across all major accounting topics
- Problem-solving mentality
- Experience managing SSCs / third-party providers
- Business-partner mindset
- Team player in a multinational matrix organization
- Fluent in English and German
