About the role

  • Engineer in Energy Lab conducting material failure investigations and developing standards. Engaging with personnel to enhance safety and efficiency at Eversource's Energy Lab.

Responsibilities

  • Perform material failure investigations and identify new tools, materials, and technologies
  • Develop construction material and equipment standards
  • Interact and engage with personnel from field supervision to leadership team members
  • Contribute to the development of lessons learned from post-failure or incident reviews
  • Evaluate, specify, procure, install, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment
  • Conduct destructive and non-destructive examinations of tools and materials
  • Prepare and issue reports documenting studies performed
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Lead Engineer

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Metallurgy, Materials Science, Laboratory Science, Process Safety)
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering documents and drawings
  • Previous failure analysis, testing, quality control, and risk management experience preferred
  • Extremely proficient in all MS Office functions and adaptability to current software tools such as Power Bi and Power Automate
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to be self-managed and apply skills in problem solving and decision making.
  • Understanding of Federal and state (CT and MA) compliance and regulatory requirements
