Responsibilities
- Perform material failure investigations and identify new tools, materials, and technologies
- Develop construction material and equipment standards
- Interact and engage with personnel from field supervision to leadership team members
- Contribute to the development of lessons learned from post-failure or incident reviews
- Evaluate, specify, procure, install, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment
- Conduct destructive and non-destructive examinations of tools and materials
- Prepare and issue reports documenting studies performed
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment
- Perform other duties as directed by the Lead Engineer
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Metallurgy, Materials Science, Laboratory Science, Process Safety)
- 3-5 years of experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering documents and drawings
- Previous failure analysis, testing, quality control, and risk management experience preferred
- Extremely proficient in all MS Office functions and adaptability to current software tools such as Power Bi and Power Automate
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to be self-managed and apply skills in problem solving and decision making.
- Understanding of Federal and state (CT and MA) compliance and regulatory requirements
