About the role

  • M&A Analyst role focusing on evaluating acquisition opportunities in the UK software landscape. Engage with financial processes from sourcing to deal execution while building industry networks.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and connect with software businesses across diverse sectors.
  • Build a wide professional network with investment bankers, advisors, lawyers, accountants and other industry veterans to support building of a strong pipeline of target companies
  • Collect and analyse data from various sources to effectively assess potential targets
  • Build strong relationships with CEOs, founders and management teams to facilitate a personal connection from the start to finish of a deal cycle
  • Represent Everfield in meetings with CEOs and at trade shows/conferences, with frequent travel
  • Prepare valuations (incl. full financial model) and conduct comprehensive analyses during the origination and due diligence processes
  • Lead work streams within the due diligence process, including Finance, Tax, Tech, Legal and Commercial – with oversight and support from senior team members
  • Develop/revise marketing and transaction materials, as well as documentation for investment committee purposes
  • Support in SPA and other legal documents preparation (i.e. employment agreements) overseen by Acquisitions Manager
  • Manage and co-ordinate internal Everfield resources to ensure smooth integration and hand over of completed acquisitions
  • Support in in presenting acquisition opportunities to Everfield management and Aquiline Capital Partners
  • Enhance processes as the platform expands, continually refining the origination playbook as you gain experience as well

Requirements

  • At least 2-3 years of experience with evaluating software/tech companies in corporate development / investment fund, or as an advisor at an investment bank / due diligence provider
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Expert in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of corporate finance, valuation, software business models and key financial metrics
  • Accurate attention to detail, with a focus on precision in financial analysis, models, presentations, and written work
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to assess incomplete information, form clear views, and propose practical solutions
  • Understanding and curiosity about software and technology
  • Tenacious, energetic, and ability to build personal relationships with an ecosystem of CEO’s, founders and advisors
  • Ability to adhere to process and help the team continuously improve it over time constantly adapt
  • Hands on, able to work independently/autonomously
  • Entrepreneurial and international mindset
  • Pro-active in nature. Wants to do more than the role requires and inherent eagerness to develop understanding and knowledge
