Field Operations Engineer providing face to face IT support to Essex Police Officers across the county. Managing equipment needs and performing hardware setups in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Provide on-site, face to face IT support to Police Officers and Staff
Attend Police Stations and other sites across the county
Support front line officers and staff with IT equipment needs
Work at our office drop-in repair centre
Perform IT equipment moves and changes around the County, involving manual handling of equipment
Requirements
A full valid manual UK driving licence
Familiarity or working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and 11 operating systems
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
Experience in an IT environment preferred but not essential
Effective communication skills, preferably gained within a customer service environment
Diagnostic skillset and logical problem solving
Ability to work within a fast paced, and pressurised environment
Ability to work remotely with tight timescales, prioritise workloads and use own initiative
Basic awareness and understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and networking (desirable)
Diagnostic and hardware skills regarding AV (Video conference) equipment and printer / Multi-function Devices (MFD) (desirable)
SharePoint and Office 365 awareness (desirable)
Understanding of the principles of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) in a support services arena (desirable)
