About the role
- Architect/Engineer responsible for large battery energy storage systems in Berlin. Overseeing project approvals, design coordination, and collaboration with regulatory bodies.
Responsibilities
- Responsibility for approval planning and building permit procedures for large-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) projects
- Preparation and review of design documentation and acting as the central point of contact with building authorities and permitting agencies
- Use of own authorization to submit building permit applications (Bauvorlageberechtigung) for filing applications
- Coordination and management of external specialist planners and review of submitted designs
- Close coordination with internal project managers and support on all construction- and permitting-related matters
- Support projects through to building permit approval, including coordination with grid operators and external partners
- Actively contribute to the development of the new BESS business area within the commercial customer team
Requirements
- Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a comparable field
- Authorization to submit building permit applications in accordance with the state building code (Bauvorlageberechtigung)
- Solid experience in approval (permitting) and execution planning for construction projects
- Experience in communication and coordination with building authorities, permitting agencies, and grid operators is a plus
- Structured, solution-oriented working style and strong communication skills
- Confident use of common planning and project management tools
- Very good German language skills, both written and spoken
- Experience in planning infrastructure or energy projects (e.g., PV, wind, BESS, substations) desirable
