About the role
- Lead Engineer guiding a talented engineering team at Engel & Völkers in Backend Java development. Driving technical vision and delivering value to customers in a hybrid role.
Responsibilities
- Take over the strategic, technical and disciplinary responsibility for one engineering team on the Agent Platform
- Define and align technical goals for your team, while setting clear, measurable objectives to ensure efficient and high-quality delivery
- Lead and steer the full DevOps lifecycle of user-centric products - starting from architecture, design and development to deployment as well as operation and optimization
- Collaborate closely with key stakeholders across the organization, including Product Management and Design, other teams and the C-Level
- Act as a coach and mentor to your engineers, supporting their professional growth
Requirements
- Several years of experience in a Lead Software Engineering role with a focus on Backend Engineering in an agile environment
- Strong experience in modern technology stacks with high complexity and scale
- Expertise in developing distributed systems with high demands on performance and reliability
- Expert knowledge in Java and Spring Boot
- Deep understanding of relational database design principles & knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Deep understanding of modern cloud-based backend architectures and technologies (GCP preferred)
- Excellent communication skills in English (German is a plus)
