About the role
- Responsible for battery design and engineering analyses on molten salt batteries.
- Analyses include conceptual and detailed design, trade studies, estimates, and calculations for energy storage and power conversion.
- Activities include battery design, prototype fabrication, technical data packages, product manufacturing instructions, test, and evaluation.
- The selected engineer will work with other members of the engineering department to create design solutions that meet customer requirements and company objectives.
- The selected engineer will also work with the Quality and Manufacturing functions to ensure products are delivered to the highest possible standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in either Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering required.
- Working knowledge of Solid Works and AutoCad
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and data analytics software is required.
- Strong communication and presentation skills are required.
- Effective problem-solving skills, work ethic, and initiative are required.
- Working knowledge of ANSYS or other Finite Element Analysis tools is a plus.
- Working knowledge of APQP is a plus.
- College level written and verbal English.
- Working knowledge of engineering mathematics is required.
- Objective and logical with strong root-cause problem solving ability.
- Microsoft Office, data analytics, and CAD (Solid Works) skills required.
- Modeling and simulation is a plus.
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is a plus.
- Planning, analytical, assertive, and ability to interact with other groups.
