Responsibilities
- Participate in and lead engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing systems in various types of facilities
- Focus on design and construction activities including project delivery methods
- Design HVAC and plumbing systems primarily for HyperScale and Colocation Data Center design
- Support additional areas such as Administrative, Warehouse, Laboratory, Chemical Storage & Handling, and more
- Conduct Data Center airflow CFD modeling for interior and exterior spaces
- Conduct energy audit/efficiency studies, code review/application, and sustainable design/LEED application
- Develop engineering skills while working on challenging projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience
- Basic knowledge of HVAC and plumbing design
- Previous experience in Data Center/Mission Critical Design
- Understanding of design differences in Hyper-scale, edge and collation data centers
- Familiarity with Data Center tier rating systems
- Strong knowledge in Autodesk Revit
- Experience in Data Center airflow CFD modeling
- Computer generated HVAC cooling and heating loads and HVAC equipment sizing
- HVAC system energy modeling and energy code
- Technical submittal reviewing process and bid reviewing process for large-scale water and air cooled chiller plants
- Familiarity with International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes, ASHRAE Handbooks/Standards, ASPE design handbooks, and SMACNA Standards
- Attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously
