About the role
- Strategic Project Finance Specialist at EnerSys managing financial clarity in project portfolios and ensuring compliance with accounting policies. Collaborating across departments to optimize financial tracking and governance.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Project Management and executive leadership to evaluate and refine business cases, ensuring financial clarity, ROI viability, and traceability
- Develop financial models aligned with corporate strategy, incorporating sensitivity and risk-adjusted analysis
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and actual expenditures across the portfolio; perform monthly variance analysis and reconciliation
- Partner with Project Managers and Accounting to properly classify CapEx vs. OpEx, ensuring compliance with capitalization policy
- Validate and report on cross-charging between departments and legal entities
- Provide portfolio-level insights to PMO leadership, including performance trends and financial risks
- Enforce financial governance and control processes to maintain accuracy and transparency
- Support continuous improvement in financial tracking, reporting, and forecasting tools within the PMO, as well as other related tasks as assigned
- Utilize Planisware, SAP, Baan, and Excel for project portfolio financial management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required; advanced degree or certification (CPA, CMA, CFA, PMP) preferred
- 5+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or project portfolio management, ideally within engineering, manufacturing, or technology industries
- Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Familiarity with CapEx vs. OpEx accounting, cross-charging, and project cost allocation
- Experience with enterprise finance and project systems (Planisware, SAP, Baan, Excel required; Power BI a plus)
