About the role
- Manufacturing Engineer developing and supporting equipment and processes for Gas Analysis products at Emerson. Collaborating on projects and ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency in production.
Responsibilities
- Develop safe manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; interfacing with equipment suppliers;
- Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields and costs;
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout;
- Develop manufacturing processes to meet product requirements and tests manufacturing methods while developing training and evaluation guideline for assembly operators; Train operators in his area of responsibility;
- Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes;
- Develop and specify through process maps, manufacturing processes of all levels of complexity necessary to produce product. Provide direction to overall manufacturing process documentation strategy;
- Develop working instructions, workmanship standards and process documents, and ensure they are followed, define & prepares technical specifications for new equipment;
- Identify Potential outsource opportunities & build and maintain relationships with vendors
- Interacts with vendors for acquiring and maintaining new equipment
- Work with tool designers and designer/drafters to define tooling and fixturing requirements and initiate tooling improvement projects;
- Work with QA, Materials, and Design Engineering to disposition discrepant parts and assemblies, assign causes, and initiate corrective action. Identify system related causes and initiate action;
- Involved with LEAN and continuous improvement projects;
- Collaborates with New Product Development team for implementing new products and/or improvement of existing products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Mechanical, Management, Industrial or equivalent).
- 2–5 years of experience in Manufacturing/Process Engineering.
- Strong data analysis skills and proficiency in supervising benchmarks using tools such as advanced Excel, Power BI, or similar.
- Knowledge of technical drawing and assembly and/or mechanical processing processes.
- Solid understanding of MRP systems
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
