About the role

  • Manufacturing Engineer developing and supporting equipment and processes for Gas Analysis products at Emerson. Collaborating on projects and ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency in production.

Responsibilities

  • Develop safe manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; interfacing with equipment suppliers;
  • Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields and costs;
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout;
  • Develop manufacturing processes to meet product requirements and tests manufacturing methods while developing training and evaluation guideline for assembly operators; Train operators in his area of responsibility;
  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes;
  • Develop and specify through process maps, manufacturing processes of all levels of complexity necessary to produce product. Provide direction to overall manufacturing process documentation strategy;
  • Develop working instructions, workmanship standards and process documents, and ensure they are followed, define & prepares technical specifications for new equipment;
  • Identify Potential outsource opportunities & build and maintain relationships with vendors
  • Interacts with vendors for acquiring and maintaining new equipment
  • Work with tool designers and designer/drafters to define tooling and fixturing requirements and initiate tooling improvement projects;
  • Work with QA, Materials, and Design Engineering to disposition discrepant parts and assemblies, assign causes, and initiate corrective action. Identify system related causes and initiate action;
  • Involved with LEAN and continuous improvement projects;
  • Collaborates with New Product Development team for implementing new products and/or improvement of existing products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Mechanical, Management, Industrial or equivalent).
  • 2–5 years of experience in Manufacturing/Process Engineering.
  • Strong data analysis skills and proficiency in supervising benchmarks using tools such as advanced Excel, Power BI, or similar.
  • Knowledge of technical drawing and assembly and/or mechanical processing processes.
  • Solid understanding of MRP systems
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
