About the role

  • Postdoctoral position working in a collaborative project to develop a new treatment for colorectal cancer using organoid models. Aimed at bridging academic and industry-related research in health.

Responsibilities

  • A Postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Dr Kevin Myant to carry out a collaborative project to test and develop a novel therapeutic for the treatment of colorectal cancer.
  • The project, sponsored by the industry partner Trogenix, is a collaboration with Prof Steven Pollard and aims to test the applicability to enhancer driven cell targeting in metastatic disease.
  • The project will use patient derived human organoid models to determine how cancer cells respond to these therapies providing proof-of-principle of the applicability of this approach.

Requirements

  • Awarded, or soon-to-be-awarded, PhD in cancer biology or a related biomedical field.
  • Previous experience working with organoid culture systems.
  • Experience in molecular biology techniques (flow cytometry, viral transductions, qRT-PCR, scRNAseq, ATACseq, CUT&RUN etc).
  • Previous experience of contributions to translational research projects.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly.
