About the role

  • Postdoctoral Research Fellow studying molecular/epigenetic epidemiology at the University of Edinburgh. Engaging in research on biomarkers linked to organ ageing and disease outcomes, contributing to projects and collaborations.

Responsibilities

  • Explore epigenetic biomarkers of organ ageing, proteins and disease.
  • Build epigenetic biomarkers for organ age estimates and proteins using longitudinal data.
  • Test biomarkers in a subset of volunteers and determine correlations across biosamples.
  • Apply biomarkers to blood-based and saliva-based DNA methylation data.
  • Build pipelines to replicate findings through international consortia projects.
  • Develop and apply a novel multivariate GWA framework for protein and DNAm relations.
  • Use bivariate associations to build graph models that identify age-specific causal pathways.

Requirements

  • PhD in molecular/epigenetic epidemiology.
  • Outstanding track record of first author publications.
  • Ability to mentor students/postdocs and to design and manage research projects.
  • Excellent understanding of genetic/epigenetic epidemiology.
  • Strong statistical analysis skills.
