About the role

  • Lead Applied Research Scientist at ILLUIN Technology transforming state-of-the-art AI into functional solutions. Combining academic excellence and startup agility in a hybrid role.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an active technology watch on the latest advances to guide the company’s technical strategy (GenAI, LLM/VLM, RAG, Agents/Multi-agent systems, etc.)
  • Lead exploratory research with the goal of publishing in top-tier conferences.
  • Share knowledge internally (keynotes, demos) to keep team expertise at the highest level.
  • Integrate state-of-the-art AI features into our products.
  • Rapidly prototype to validate technical hypotheses.
  • Immerse yourself in the complex product stack.

Requirements

  • Scientific expertise & seniority: You have solid experience in Generative AI, with the breadth to design complex architectures and to read and implement research papers.
  • Versatile, "Swiss Army knife" mindset: You are impact-driven and able to switch from fundamental research to debugging a production script. You proactively seek information from the right stakeholders (product, engineering, etc.).
  • Pragmatism & agility: You understand that good AI is AI that runs in production. You prioritize rapid iteration and working code over long planning phases.
  • Technical versatility: You are proficient in the Python/AI ecosystem and have an appetite for software engineering. Learning the basics of another language for integration does not intimidate you.

Benefits

  • Work on Deep Tech topics (advanced RAG systems, autonomous agents, self-improving agents, etc.) with a top-tier team (X, Centrale, Mines, PhDs...).
