Maintenance Engineer managing maintenance for District Heating Networks in Southwest England. Enhancing operational performance while ensuring safety and compliance across systems and facilities.
Responsibilities
complete planned and reactive maintenance activities within plant rooms, including general plumbing, heating and HVAC works
carry out Energy Centre and Heat Substations plant monitoring
diagnose, repair and resolve mechanical and electrical faults across a range of systems
follow correct working processes and capture accurate visit information
ensure compliance with Health and Safety and PPE requirements
contribute to the achievement of team performance measures and KPIs
support continuous improvement in service delivery
provide maintenance support across the Southwest of England (SP, BS, BA and RG postcodes)
participate in on-call or out-of-hours support when necessary
Requirements
Mechanical/Electrical NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent)
proven experience in general plumbing, heating, mechanical or electrical engineering
Full UK Driving License
ability to innovate and appropriately challenge existing processes to improve efficiency
willingness to develop the site by looking for best practise and ways to improve the plant operational and commercial performance
strong understanding of risk assessments, procedures and safe working practices
comfortable using IT systems and computers to record and manage work activities
strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to form effective working relationships with site and external staff at all levels
ability to prioritise effectively and consistently deliver against tight time constraints
domestic gas boiler experience with relevant gas safety registration (desirable)
HIU and DHN Experience (desirable)
