About the role

  • Asset Protection Program Manager at Duke Energy managing and protecting transmission corridors. Collaborating with stakeholders on compliance and legal matters involving encroachments.

Responsibilities

  • Manages, inspects, and protects a designated portion of the transmission corridors
  • Collaborates with stakeholders and customers
  • Reviews technical engineering drawings and site plans to ensure compliance with guidelines
  • Negotiates with customers regarding encroachments
  • Meets with various stakeholders to resolve encroachment issues
  • Maintains detailed documentation and prepares letters to property owners
  • Trains, mentors, and onboards new employees
  • Monitors performance of contract resources
  • Participates in and may be required to testify in court issues

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Forestry, Engineering, Real Estate, Business or other related discipline
  • Valid Driver's License
  • 7 years minimum related work experience (for Asset Protection Program Manager)
  • 10 years minimum related work experience (for Sr. Asset Protection Program Manager)
  • possession of working knowledge of how AP affects the safety and reliability of the electrical system
  • Project management work experience and/or PMI knowledge
  • Familiarity with GIS databases, mapping and other geo-spatial systems
  • Utility Experience – Working knowledge to proficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to read engineering plans and easement documents
  • Demonstrated ability to give depositions and/or testify in a courtroom setting
  • Demonstrated familiarity with NESC & OSHA requirements for the electric business
