About the role
- Financial Controller overseeing finance operations to ensure timely delivery and accuracy of financial statements in Australia. Collaborating with various finance functions and stakeholders for compliance and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute finance actuals, closing, and reporting activities for assigned reporting unit(s) to ensure timely delivery and accuracy of financial statements
- Perform thorough sanity checks of the Profit and Loss (P&L) statement and coordinate variances analysis against actuals, including comparisons to prior periods
- Ensure compliance with dsm-firmenich Accounting Rules, international, and local statutory accounting standards to maintain integrity of financial statements and management reports
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial reporting, controls, and system efficiencies within the assigned reporting unit(s)
- Interact with external and internal stakeholders like auditors, government bodies, regional FC&A teams. Tax, treasury, Shared Services BU Finance and FP&A
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in financial control & accounting, or controlling roles, preferably within a multinational organization
- Proficient expertise in financial reporting, IFRS, compliance, and internal controls
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting/Financial Controlling and/or Professional qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA)
- ERP Experience (SAP preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
