Sustainability Communications Intern at SVZ, assisting in sustainability reporting and communications strategy. Engaging stakeholders and enhancing sustainability messaging across platforms during a 4-6 month internship.
Responsibilities
Support the update and enhancement of SVZ’s sustainability report in line with relevant sustainability standards (e.g., CSRD, GRI, or similar frameworks).
Gather and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data across teams.
Collect and develop compelling stories from internal and external stakeholders (e.g., employees, suppliers, customers).
Help ensure consistency, clarity, and impact in sustainability messaging.
Update sustainability-related content across SVZ’s website and internal platforms.
Improve accessibility and storytelling of sustainability initiatives online.
Collaborate with marketing/communications teams to align tone and branding.
Support the development of a sustainability communications roadmap for 2026–2027.
Identify key moments, campaigns, and opportunities to amplify impact.
Assist in creating content calendars and communication materials.
Contribute ideas and initiatives to improve how sustainability is communicated across the company.
Support internal campaigns to raise awareness and engagement among employees.
Help translate complex sustainability topics into clear, engaging messages.
Bring forward new ideas and projects to enhance sustainability communications.
Take ownership of selected initiatives based on interests and strengths.
Requirements
Currently pursuing a degree in Sustainability, Communications, Marketing, Business, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
Demonstrated interest in sustainability, ESG, or corporate responsibility.
Strong writing and storytelling skills (ability to translate complex topics into clear narratives).
Research and analytical skills (comfortable working with both qualitative and quantitative information).
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel).
Experience with content management systems or website editing is a plus.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English (Dutch, Polish or Spanish is a plus, not a must).
Ability to work independently and think strategically, but also comfortable engaging with different stakeholders.
Looking for an internship for the duration of 4-6 months.
A student status in The Netherlands or in Belgium is required.
