About the role

  • Financial Accountant preparing and reviewing bank reconciliations at DLL. Ensuring accuracy of financial data while supporting compliance and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Perform reconciliations for other related cash clearing accounts.
  • Monitor outstanding items and follow up with internal departments to ensure proper resolution.
  • Prepare daily bank related journal entries in Great Plains Dynamics for all entities.
  • Maintain daily EFT/Wire files, the Outstanding Cheque Register, and create cash batches.
  • Download and archive bank statements and supporting reports from TD Web Business Banking.
  • Safeguard confidential banking information and ensure secure handling of reconciliation files.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements.
  • Support month end and year end close activities, including journal entries and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for all reconciliations.
  • Recommend and support process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Participate in special projects, including process improvement initiatives and system upgrades (InfoLease, CRISS, Odessa and Dynamics).
  • Assist with preparation for auditor visits, including treasury process walk throughs for financial statement and internal auditors.

Requirements

  • Preferably three years of experience in accounting or finance
  • Completion of a university degree or college diploma, ideally in accounting
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and solid skills in Microsoft Word
  • Familiarity with Great Plains Dynamics general ledger (an asset)
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and reliable follow up
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities effectively
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving strengths
  • Competence in producing clear and thorough documentation
  • Self driven and able to work independently in a fast paced environment
  • Experience in the leasing industry and knowledge of InfoLease considered beneficial
  • Comfortable working remotely and collaborating within a virtual team
