About the role

Responsibilities
- Support and advise researchers in properly preparing applications for third-party funded projects in the areas of grants ('Zuwendung') and contract research
- Financial controlling and monitoring of ongoing projects
- Coordinate change requests and fund transfers with project-executing units and various third-party funders
- Review grant-related and financial requests and approve funding/resource requests
- Ensure liquidity through fund requisitions and invoicing
- Prepare grant expenditure reports (Verwendungsnachweise) and settle third-party funding contracts
- Handle audits and reviews by grant providers
- Address budgetary and grant-law issues as well as general business administration questions
- General administrative tasks, e.g., maintaining project files
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (university or university of applied sciences), preferably in Business Administration, Business Law or Administrative Law, or a completed commercial vocational training in administration/finance
- Relevant professional experience in finance/controlling
- Experience in third-party funding administration and knowledge of budgetary and grant law of national and, ideally, European funders are desirable
- Strong numerical affinity, an independent working style, flexibility, a high sense of responsibility, and a high level of social competence, communication skills and willingness to work in a team
- Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Business-fluent German
