About the role

  • Junior Software Engineer developing high-performance data feeds at Deutsche Börse Group. Collaborating on software solutions for real-time market data and analytics in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical concepts based on functional requirements in the area of market data distribution
  • Framework-based software development in application development and infrastructure (Infrastructure as Code)
  • Analyze requirements from strategic Data Analytics initiatives and derive and implement the identified requirements based on existing platforms and processes
  • Plan, design, and implement scalable, high-performance backend solutions for low-latency event-driven messaging as well as Big Data applications
  • Create, execute, and automate product tests for quality assurance and provide technical support for additional functional testing phases

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Technical Computer Science, or Software Engineering
  • Strong analytical skills, quick comprehension, and a high willingness to learn
  • Solid knowledge of computer systems, software architectures, data structures, automation, and programming, plus professional experience in software development—ideally in the financial services sector
  • Good knowledge of C++ on Linux, and experience with inter-process communication, distributed systems, databases, and protocols (TCP/IP, UDP/Multicast, MySQL, AMQP, NATS, Kafka, MQTT)
  • Basic knowledge of cloud technologies or experience with at least one cloud platform (GCP or Azure) is an advantage
  • Confident handling of application containerization such as Docker/Kubernetes (microservices)
  • Good written and spoken German and English
