About the role

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong technical expertise in tax compliance reporting, including the preparation and review of tax filings
  • Utilize tax software proficiently to prepare, process, and review tax returns
  • Stay current with important technical updates and proactively suggest solutions to address emerging tax compliance issues for employers and expatriates
  • Manage compliance and reporting processes, oversee tax management activities, and conduct thorough risk and control assessments
  • Identify opportunities to enhance engagement processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Research and consultation on various tax matters
  • Assist in the preparation of comprehensive tax advisory reports and related client deliverables
  • Address and resolve employer and expatriate concerns by offering timely guidance on tax compliance and advisory topics
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade clients and stakeholders effectively
  • Serve as a key liaison with employers and individual expatriates to address compliance tax reporting and advisory matters through in-person meetings, phone calls, and emails
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with officers from the Inland Revenue Board and other relevant government agencies as needed
  • Involve in Public Speaking such as providing internal training, speak at client seminars/events
  • Perform additional support tasks as required by the team to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or business related field
  • Candidates with recognized professional certification such as ACCA will also be considered
  • Possess at least 5 years’ experience in handling personal income tax, preferably gained from other major accounting firms or other related organizations
  • Excellent verbal and written English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • A team player and versatile to work with people of diverse background and experience
  • Mature in handling client issues and possess good interpersonal skill
  • Able to work under tight deadlines and to prioritize and organize workload
