About the role
- Hardware Systems Engineer for In-Space Manufacturing activities, supporting system design and testing for technologies at Dcubed.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of Dcubed´s world first in-space manufacturing (ISM) technology
- Work with the PMs and a multidisciplinary technical team to design technical system architectures for tech demo missions and customer products
- Plan system requirements to comply with customer and ECSS / NASA specifications, including component-level requirements
- Create systems verification plans and validation activities, including test planning, test campaigns, and procedures
- Write assembly procedures, support quality checks, and participate in integration, assembly, and testing activities
- Manage interfaces between subsystems
- Maintain technical budgets for the system
- Prepare technical documentation and participate in stakeholders' meetings
Requirements
- BS / MS degree in Engineering (aerospace, mechanical, electrical or a related subject)
- At least 3+ years of relevant experience (e.g. space system development, satellite systems design, testing, verification, assembly, or similar)
- Knowledge of engineering standards used in space industry (eg ECSS, MIL)
- Knowledge/experience of systems engineering processes
- Knowledge of space environment
- Fluent in English
- Eligible to work in Germany
- Proven record of successful flight of satellite missions in a system engineering role (nice to have)
- Understanding of structures, thermal control, and electrical systems (nice to have)
- Comfortable coding in Python (nice to have)
- Skilled with data visualization and sharing of information (nice to have)
