About the role
- Senior IT-System Engineer at DATAGROUP analyzing and resolving issues in Windows and Linux applications. Collaborating with teams to enhance infrastructures and troubleshoot complex disruptions.
Responsibilities
- Autonomous analysis and resolution of issues in various applications running on Windows and Linux servers
- Evaluation and interpretation of event logs, log files, and system messages
- Conducting and analyzing network traces (e.g., with Wireshark) to identify performance or communication problems
- Close collaboration with business units, developers, and external partners in root-cause analysis of complex incidents
- Planning and execution of maintenance tasks such as patching, certificate replacement, or configuration adjustments
- Maintenance and documentation of system environments and troubleshooting processes
- Active participation in the development and automation of infrastructure and monitoring solutions
- Support for the introduction of new systems and technical migration projects
Requirements
- Completed vocational training or degree in IT or equivalent professional experience
- Very good understanding of IT infrastructures, particularly Windows and Linux servers (including services, networking, protocols)
- Practical experience in application troubleshooting and working with logs and trace tools
- Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS, SSL/TLS)
- Proficient with certificates, patch management, and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)
- Experience with monitoring and ticketing systems (e.g., Zabbix, CheckMK, Jira, USU)
- Good communication skills and analytical thinking
- Independent, structured, and solution-oriented work style
- Very good German language skills, good English skills
- For assignments in the German government environment, a security clearance according to SÜ1 or SÜ2 is required.
