About the role

  • IT Security Officer in Bremerhaven developing IT security standards and managing incident response with external SOC provider. Collaborating with stakeholders and ensuring security architecture meets high standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop security policies and concepts: In collaboration with stakeholders, you will develop, update, and implement comprehensive IT security standards and frameworks.
  • SOC collaboration: You coordinate cooperation with our external service provider that operates our Security Operations Center (SOC).
  • Monitoring & risk analysis: Through continuous monitoring, audits, and detailed risk analyses, you ensure our security architecture meets the highest standards.
  • Manage projects and software solutions: You support projects and manage software solutions such as firewalls, antivirus software, and patch management to ensure security across all areas.
  • ISMS: You operate an Information Security Management System (ISMS) that forms the foundation of our security concept.
  • Incident management & emergency planning: In the event of an incident, you analyze security-related events, assess risks, and coordinate effective incident response and emergency measures.
  • Advice and collaboration: You work closely with the data protection officer, external auditors, and security authorities, and support internal departments through training and targeted advisory services.

Requirements

  • Education: You have a completed degree in computer science, IT security, or a related field — alternatively, you have vocational training as an IT specialist in system integration.
  • Professional experience: With at least 3–5 years of experience in IT security and vulnerability analysis, you are familiar with the practical challenges of IT security.
  • Technical expertise: You have solid knowledge of security architectures, network security, and the development of IT security concepts. Advanced certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer) are a plus.
  • Soft skills: Strong teamwork and communication skills, a structured and analytical way of working, and a high degree of initiative.
  • Language skills: You have excellent written and spoken German.
