About the role
- Accounting Manager overseeing general ledger and compliance with GAAP at Oak Street Health. Supporting month-end close and mentoring accounting staff in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
- Support month-end close by reviewing journal entries and supporting documents, and providing internal reporting and analysis to management
- Assist in quarterly and year-end reporting to Oak Street Health and CVS management
- Review account reconciliations and other analyses to ensure complete and accurate accounting
- Support Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 compliance on internal controls over financial reporting for key processes
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives
- Perform other ad hoc accounting duties as assigned
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software (WorkDay Finance and SAP S4, preferred)
- Microsoft Office Suite
- CPA certification (preferred)
- Previous experience as a people manager (preferred)
- Public Accounting or Public Company (SOX 404) experience is a plus
- Experience in the value-based care or SaaS industry is a plus
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
