About the role

  • Accounting Manager overseeing general ledger and compliance with GAAP at Oak Street Health. Supporting month-end close and mentoring accounting staff in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
  • Support month-end close by reviewing journal entries and supporting documents, and providing internal reporting and analysis to management
  • Assist in quarterly and year-end reporting to Oak Street Health and CVS management
  • Review account reconciliations and other analyses to ensure complete and accurate accounting
  • Support Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 compliance on internal controls over financial reporting for key processes
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives
  • Perform other ad hoc accounting duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Proficiency in accounting software (WorkDay Finance and SAP S4, preferred)
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • CPA certification (preferred)
  • Previous experience as a people manager (preferred)
  • Public Accounting or Public Company (SOX 404) experience is a plus
  • Experience in the value-based care or SaaS industry is a plus
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
