Responsibilities
Design and develop data architecture and data models using SAP BW components, applying expert knowledge of the SAP data model to support financial planning (BPC) and organization‑wide analytics needs.
Implement and optimize Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes, developing ABAP routines and managing data loads from SAP and external sources to ensure data integrity, consistency, and availability for analysis.
Ensure efficient integration across analytical platforms by modeling the connection between SAP BW, BPC, and Big Data/DWH environments to enable data exploitation and advanced analytics.
Maintain performance and stability of the BW environment by optimizing queries, monitoring data models, and resolving technical issues to meet required reporting and analytics speed and quality.
Provide expert support and documentation, resolving incidents, training developers, and maintaining an up‑to‑date information dictionary to facilitate understanding, usage, and maintenance of the data architecture.
Requirements
5 years of experience in designing and developing data architectures and data models within SAP BW.
Data modeling using key BW components (InfoCubes, DSOs, MultiProviders, etc.).
Hands‑on experience integrating SAP BW with SAP BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation) for planning solutions.
Query performance optimization and troubleshooting performance issues within the BW environment.
Experience gathering requirements from functional teams and providing technical guidance to Big Data, DWH, and BI teams.
Deep knowledge of dimensional data modeling and schema design (including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema).
Proficiency in SQL, knowledge of ABAP for transformation routines and programs, and familiarity with the SAP HANA platform.
Familiarity with Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) concepts and tools, as well as the SAP ECC or S/4HANA data model.
