Civil, Structural & Architectural Responsible Engineer leading CS&A design on critical nuclear infrastructure projects. Overseeing project delivery ensuring compliance and budget meet expectations.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the management of CS&A design and engineering aspects of the Programme
Lead and manage the CS&A designers, whether they are Costain Engineering and Design or external consultants or subcontractors
Ensure that the management systems, including digital processes and systems, are followed
Responsible for project discipline technical, compliance, quality, resources and budget performance
Coordinating project work activities between project discipline teams and resolving technical / budget challenges
Collaborate and produce a robust and safe design output
Ensure designs are safe, sustainable, and efficient to construct
Oversee management of CS&A design change
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree / Engineering or management apprenticeship with industry experience
Chartered member of professional institute (MICE, MIStructE or RIBA)
Project Management training / skills
Hold professional qualifications such as Chartership or Incorporated Status
Educational experience relevant to their engineering discipline, ideally degree qualified to a 2:1 or better
Secondary level education, such as A levels, BTEC, T levels etc
Safety passport or similar
Have line management / mentoring experience
Have wide reaching engineering experience across the full engineering lifecycle – client sales to legacy close out
Be able to manage resources and drive career development – single and potentially multiple disciplines
Be able to accurately report progress / risk / opportunities / change etc, be digitally proficient
Understand and deliver on sustainable design requirements
Able to work accurately and deliver to promise, predict and report potential challenges to delivery
Actively learn and share best practice into the discipline team
Have clear knowledge of UK Regulatory framework associated with technical discipline, ie CDM, Electrical, Environmental, Process etc
