Electrical Project Engineer at Core States Group leading design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for EV charging projects. Collaborating with teams to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Develop complete electrical design packages for Level 2 / DCFC EV charging installations, including site layouts, single-line diagrams, conduit and wiring plans, and load calculations.
Conduct electrical load analysis and service capacity evaluations to determine utility upgrade requirements.
Ensure all designs comply with NEC, local building codes, and utility standards.
Prepare permit-ready drawings and documentation for AHJ submissions.
Conduct site walks to verify existing electrical infrastructure, panel capacity, grounding conditions, and charger placement feasibility.
Field electrical experience preferred.
Collect field data, photos, and measurements to support accurate design and layout.
Coordinate with construction teams during installation to ensure design intent is followed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
Proven experience in electrical design and power distribution for commercial projects.
Strong knowledge of power distribution systems including low voltage and medium voltage.
Code Knowledge and familiarity with NEC, NFPA, and IEEE.
Design and develop electrical power distribution systems using AutoCAD and ETAP software.
Create and review wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation to support project requirements.
Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients to align project objectives and resolve technical issues.
Conduct site visits to oversee installation of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
