About the role

• Electrical Project Engineer at Core States Group leading design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for EV charging projects. Collaborating with teams to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop complete electrical design packages for Level 2 / DCFC EV charging installations, including site layouts, single-line diagrams, conduit and wiring plans, and load calculations.
• Conduct electrical load analysis and service capacity evaluations to determine utility upgrade requirements.
• Ensure all designs comply with NEC, local building codes, and utility standards.
• Prepare permit-ready drawings and documentation for AHJ submissions.
• Conduct site walks to verify existing electrical infrastructure, panel capacity, grounding conditions, and charger placement feasibility.
• Field electrical experience preferred.
• Collect field data, photos, and measurements to support accurate design and layout.
• Coordinate with construction teams during installation to ensure design intent is followed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
• Proven experience in electrical design and power distribution for commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution systems including low voltage and medium voltage.
• Code Knowledge and familiarity with NEC, NFPA, and IEEE.
• Design and develop electrical power distribution systems using AutoCAD and ETAP software.
• Create and review wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation to support project requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients to align project objectives and resolve technical issues.
• Conduct site visits to oversee installation of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
