About the role

• Director of Operations overseeing logistics management and strategic initiatives for DSV in the USA. Maximizing growth and resource management in a complex operational environment.

Responsibilities

• The Director of Operations provides overall direction and guidance to the operational activities of the organization.
• Provides strategic leadership and management to Operations within a large geographic region.
• The Director of Operations will strive to maximize growth and profitability while responsibly managing the resources of their region according to the company and client expectations and policies.
• Develops and implements long and short-term strategies to achieve financial and growth targets.
• Develops emerging talent and successors and creates a work environment that promotes the values of DSV.
• Responsible for supporting the Company strategy including growth and transformational initiatives.
• Develops regional strategies to align with enterprise targets.
• Ensures operational excellence within and across our core services.
• Provides leadership and creates an environment that fosters passion, teamwork and agility within the organization.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in engineering, Business or Logistics or equivalent fields is required
• A minimum of 10 years’ logistics operations management experience with big box or specialty high-volume retailers and at least 5 years’ experience as a regional operations leader managing multiple locations
• Full P&L and Budget management (for profit)
• Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months can range from mild to moderate
• Excel expertise (Pivot Tables)
• Strong proficiency in MS Office applications is needed
• Excellent verbal, written and visual/presentation communication skills.
• Must be adept at navigating within a matrixed organizational structure.
• Results-oriented and able to work and meet timelines.
• Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a complex matrix environment across multiple levels within the organization.
• Ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve.
• Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Integration experience with the supply chain industry is helpful.
