About the role
- Network Security Engineer managing security infrastructure for global network operations. Focused on 24/7 support of DDoS, WAF, and Firewall services in Manila, Philippines.
Responsibilities
- Participating in the planning, configuration and support of the DoS mitigation platforms, firewall/ VPN devices and Web protection services.
- Collaborate with the wider network team to implement security controls, defenses, and countermeasures to prevent internal and/or external attacks.
- Making recommendations and providing technical guidance to solve business problems and improve service availability for customers.
- Managing planned maintenance and upgrade activities for DDoS mitigation platforms and firewall devices.
- Escalation point for support teams in the resolution of customer service outages during DDoS attacks and other security events.
- Participating in various technology Creating and maintaining current documentation/ Wiki
- Working closely with our software teams in defining the tools that enable security infrastructure scaling at volume.
- Developing ways to automate common operational & repeatable build
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience working in a network position or related to operations
- Experience with DDoS platforms, firewalls, and other Intrusion Detection and prevention systems is a must.
- Extensive knowledge of IP Networking infrastructure and protocols used in large international service provider networks.
- Experience in packet decoding and analysis during attack
- Solid understanding of Zero Trust Network Access
- Experience and practical knowledge of automation practices using Ansible playbook and Python programming is a bonus.
- Familiar with Networking Monitoring and Management
