About the role
- SAP Consultant optimizing SAP licenses and contracts for mid-sized and large corporations. Focused on license analysis, compliance requirements, and strategic recommendations for SAP investments.
Responsibilities
- Advise SME and large enterprise clients on optimizing their SAP licenses and contracts
- Conduct license requirement analyses for existing and planned SAP system landscapes
- Advise internal stakeholders on licensing models, types of usage and compliance requirements
- Assess licensing risks and derive appropriate measures to minimize risk
- Monitor and manage current SAP license usage (users, engines, Digital Access, infrastructure add-ons)
- Ensure compliance with all relevant SAP licensing and contractual conditions
- Prepare and support SAP measurements and audits (USMM, LAW, PCE metering)
- Develop and maintain a continuous license management process
- Identify cost-saving potentials and optimize the license landscape
- Derive strategic recommendations for future SAP investments
- Evaluate new SAP licensing models such as SAP Cloud ERP (Private and Public) (RISE / GROW)
- Prepare reports, analyses and decision papers for management
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of the SAP product portfolio (SAP ECC, S/4HANA, SAP Cloud, BTP, SuccessFactors, Ariba, Business AI, etc.)
- Understanding of SAP licensing models (On-Premise, Cloud — especially Cloud ERP Public and Private, Digital Access)
- Experience with SAP contracts (On-Premise and Cloud) and SAP contract negotiations
- Knowledge of compliance and audit processes (license measurement, SAP LAW, USMM, cloud license measurement, STAR framework)
- Basic knowledge of SAP authorization concepts, system architectures and S/4 migration/transformation approaches
- Basic knowledge in Software Asset Management (SAM) and ITSM processes
- Analytical and consulting skills
- Ability to interpret usage data and derive license requirements
- Cost optimization and scenario modelling (TCO / TVO) for licensing strategies
- Experience supporting negotiations with SAP or resellers
- Preparation of analyses and management presentations
