About the role

  • Responsible for project leadership, system definition, integration, and performance of the drive by wire layer with the autonomous hauling system.
  • Provide technical leadership and coordination across multiple cross-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver complex solutions for customers.
  • Work with commercial team members to define market constraints and guide solutions to maximize customer value.
  • Manage multi-generational product plans and work with strategists to define technology roadmaps that ensure future product development success.
  • Leading design, implementation, and testing for complex electronic systems.
  • Oversee definition of functional requirement and non-functional system requirements.
  • Defines high-level system architectures for onboard real-time or pseudo real-time embedded controls.
  • Analyzes control system performance and guides control system tuning and calibration activities.
  • Leading project execution and delivery of milestones across multiple engineering teams.
  • Communicating project scope, schedule, and cost to project stakeholders.
  • Applying new technologies and capabilities to innovatively solve design challenges.
  • Working with commercial teams, business partners, and engineering to understand product needs and define appropriate product solutions.
  • Defining multi-generational product plans to balance near-term execution and long-term product vision.
  • Communicating product vision to a large and diverse organization with different skillsets, cultures, and geographic locations to align and motivate.

Requirements

  • Requires a 4-year degree in an accredited Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science curriculum.
  • Requires knowledge of electronic system design, onboard real-time or pseudo real-time embedded control software architecture, telematics systems, hydraulics and/or machine control software development, and hands-on machine performance tuning and/or calibration.
  • Requires knowledge of construction and mining industries and operations.
