About the role

  • Data Architect collaborating with engineering teams to develop analytics platforms using AWS. Involves data modeling, ETL processes, and promoting continuous improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in discoveries and/or inceptions, able to translate business requirements into well-structured technical specifications that synthesize design and architecture decisions, delivering scalable, secure, and resilient systems.
  • Be able to identify and design solutions that deliver value according to the client's pain points.
  • Ingest data into Analytics environments, transform, harmonize and refine datasets to create data products (ETL/ELT).
  • Detail the functional vision and logical design to the level necessary for development.
  • Ensure timeliness, quality, and availability of data products.
  • Lead or support architecture decisions (ADR) and Architecture Review Board (ARB) reviews.
  • Promote continuous improvement that enhances foundational data solutions and products.
  • Implement platform cost-reduction strategies (FinOps).
  • Be resilient: don’t limit yourself—question, propose, and maintain close collaboration with the team.
  • #HandsOnCode: co-create and/or co-develop digital products, applying the “You build it, you run it” concept together with engineering teams.
  • #TechEvangelist: disseminate knowledge across teams through training, overviews, workshops, etc.
  • #TechWriter: ability to transfer technical knowledge clearly and simply.

Requirements

  • Solid experience with AWS.
  • Model data in SOR, SOT, and SPEC layers.
  • Experience with Python or Java.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT processes, data ingestion, and data modeling.
  • Proficiency with technologies such as Glue, GDQ, Athena, QuickSight, Hadoop, and Spark.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases – NoSQL (DynamoDB, DocumentDB, etc.).
  • Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
  • Experience with CloudFront, ECS, S3, SQS/SNS, API Gateway, and Lambda.
  • Messaging and event communication tools (SQS and SNS).
  • Best practices in the 12-Factor App methodology and SOLID principles.
  • Cloud-native patterns.
