About the role

  • Sr. Geoprocessing Analyst responsible for complex geospatial data analysis. Collaborating with teams to deliver insights for Cargill's agricultural segment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute highly complex global geospatial data analysis initiatives defined by regional strategy and effectively communicate them to local stakeholders.
  • Work with a focus on speed, accuracy, and clear communication for global agricultural forecasts, and develop continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Execute, apply, and challenge the team’s complex analyses, methodologies, and models — such as area estimation from satellite imagery, index analysis, and spatial analysis — to generate results and intelligence that support the creation of business insights.
  • Translate knowledge and application of geographic information science into business insights and competitive advantage for the local business, developing analyses for internal specialists and directing those insights to commercial and trading teams.
  • Mentor and guide global analysts to generate real value by helping them understand the connection between the team and local business needs, demonstrating the impact of each specific analysis on the business.
  • Serve as the local link between field operations, trading, analytics, and other teams to collect data and market knowledge, enabling better use of spatial analysis to create competitive advantage for the businesses.
  • Provide intellectual leadership for new data, technologies, tools, and innovations in regional geoanalytic solutions, and establish efficient processes for data collection and insight generation.
  • Independently address complex issues with minimal supervision, escalating only the most critical matters to the appropriate team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Advanced knowledge of complex modeling techniques and big data management
  • Ability to rapidly gather disparate information and transform it into accurate insights
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems and perform under tight deadlines and pressure
  • Understanding of markets and an interest in how they operate
  • Relevant professional experience
