About the role

  • Manager overseeing Provincial Patient Flow in Manitoba's health system coordinating patient flow and resource utilization. Engaging with regional teams and ensuring adherence to clinical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate Patient Flow across the Health System
  • Coordinate patient flow and resource utilization based on provincial clinical standards and guidelines
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with overcapacity situations
  • Foster linkages across sectors and regions to support improved access to care
  • Work closely with regional utilization teams, medical and clinical leaders to identify operational business needs

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of leadership experience in a patient/resident/client care setting
  • 3 years' experience in the acute care system
  • 2 years’ experience in patient flow or bed utilization
  • 2 years’ experience managing processes and projects
  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant health discipline from an accredited post-secondary education institution
  • Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse cultural, social and ethnic backgrounds
  • Must be able to lift and carry items of up to approximately 25 pounds
