About the role

  • Postdoctoral Research Fellow conducting research on experimental hypersonics at the University of Queensland. Collaborating closely with Defence Science and Technology Group on high-speed air-breathing propulsion technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on experimental hypersonics topics
  • Design and analyse high-speed air-breathing propulsion systems
  • Support the effective supervision of graduate Defence engineers and cadets
  • Provide administrative and laboratory support within the DSTG research group

Requirements

  • Completed or near completion of PhD in Mechanical/ Aerospace Engineering
  • Strong preference for experience with hypersonic test facilities
  • Ability to hold at minimum an Australian NV1 security clearance
  • Ability to work independently and constructively within a group
  • Willingness to supervise Defence engineers and cadets
  • Ability to promote and adhere to a positive safety culture
  • High level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
