About the role

  • Regional Safety and Security Director for Asia providing strategic leadership in safety and humanitarian access. Leading security strategies and mentoring teams across high-risk environments and complex operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for safety, security, and humanitarian access across Asia
  • Integrate gender-inclusive security risk analysis into operational decisions
  • Ensure country programs have robust security protocols and systems
  • Mentor and build capabilities of IRC staff and leaders
  • Lead and supervise identification and mitigation of security risks
  • Enable and safeguard humanitarian access in country programs
  • Lead recruitment and selection of key positions with S&S responsibilities

Requirements

  • At least 10 years’ experience in international humanitarian assistance
  • Strong knowledge of regional and country dynamics in Asia preferred
  • Fluency in English required
  • Demonstrated grounding in humanitarian principles
  • Proven success in gender-sensitive security management
  • Strong capacity to analyze and present complex security dynamics clearly
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
