About the role

  • Occupational Therapist providing specialist assessment and treatment for children's mental health at Monash Health. Join an innovative, interdisciplinary service dedicated to improving child and family wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist assessment, consultation and treatment to infants and children experiencing mental health and occupational functioning challenges.
  • Include discipline-specific assessment, formulation, intervention planning and reporting, focusing on sensory processing, motor development and functional participation.
  • Work within a newly established transdisciplinary/multidisciplinary model of care.
  • Access funded training opportunities, including family-centred practice, trauma-informed care and specialist assessments.

Requirements

  • Current general registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist (no restrictions)
  • Experience working in a mental health service and/or significant experience in a relevant area such as paediatrics, community health, or statutory/non-government services
  • Strong understanding of contemporary, evidence-based practice in child and family mental health
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to safe, high-quality, family-centred and trauma-informed care
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong advocacy focus for children and families
  • Current Drivers Licence
