About the role

  • Privacy Counsel role providing legal advice and support on data protection and privacy laws at Highmark Health. Work involves legal research, analysis, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Investigates factual situations and presents well-reasoned solutions based upon legal research and analysis
  • Provides legal support for significant projects or matters for units of the Corporation
  • Demonstrates significant knowledge of the Corporation's business while retaining discipline of legal analysis
  • Manages litigation and transactions or other matters, assisting outside legal counsel
  • Prepares legal memoranda, contracts, pleadings, analyses, correspondence and relevant documents

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate
  • License to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or applicable state (DE, WV or NY); or eligible for admission within one year of hire
  • 5 years of related, progressive law experience that is deeper in the area of relevant specialization
  • 3 years in related disciplines, such as insurance regulation, health law, general corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, antitrust, employee benefits, intellectual property and litigation
