About the role

Responsibilities
- Ensure the structuring, negotiation, pricing and recommendation of new commercial mortgage financings (ICI) in accordance with the company’s investment policies and procedures to achieve or exceed individual and team annual new-business targets
- Lead preliminary pricing for new loans to obtain senior management approval prior to proceeding with the transaction
- Negotiate lists of conditions and draft commitment letters confirming the financial terms approved by the company
- Work with the loan administration and documentation team to ensure compliance with all terms set out in the commitment letters
- Maintain a strong knowledge of commercial real estate market conditions, emerging trends and competitive landscape; develop and maintain a market profile
- Ensure performance requirements and risk management comply with the company’s investment policies
Requirements
- Bilingualism (French and English fluency) required
- Post‑secondary degree in business, finance or real estate, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- MBA, enrollment in the CFA program, or completion/in-progress status of the AACI real estate appraisal program, considered an asset
- 5 to 10 years of experience in commercial real estate; experience in direct commercial mortgage lending is an asset
- Solid understanding of commercial valuation methodologies, financial-statement review and credit, market and property analysis
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficient computer skills (Excel and PowerPoint)
