About the role
- Structural Water Engineer focused on designing resilient water treatment infrastructures. Engaged in diverse projects across multiple sectors while collaborating with various teams.
Responsibilities
- Execute complex structural analysis, perform calculations, and prepare sketches and drawings for the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, industrial facilities, and other complex structural facilities
- Supervises Structural Engineers and works with Structural Technicians in preparation of structural drawings and specifications
- Perform construction phase engineering duties such as site visits, responding to RFI’s, and review of contractor submittals
- Perform project administrative tasks including design fee estimates, monitoring progress, management of project changes, and implementation of Black & Veatch Quality Control requirements
- Coordinate work with architects and other discipline engineers
- Ability to lead a team to execute complex projects with construction values of up to $100M
- Provides guidance on department design guides, standards, systems, and engineering codes
- Provides technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines
- Support continuous improvement efforts
Requirements
- Master of Engineering or Master of Science from an ABET accredited Structural Engineering program
- Familiarity with the latest editions of the International Building Code, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 530
- Proficiency with use of structural analysis software such as RISA 3D, STAADPro, or SAP 2000
- Proficiency with use of non-structural software packages such as Bluebeam, ProjectWise, AutoCAD, and Revit
- Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or equivalent experience in Engineering work
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience
