About the role

  • Data Analyst focusing on procurement strategies within Argo's global supply chain. Responsible for analyzing historical purchase data to optimize decision making and supplier performance.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and consolidate strategic information from the client's historical purchasing databases, ABC item lists, suppliers, latest prices, purchase recurrence patterns, etc.
  • Structure, organize, and standardize databases to maximize available information for recurring analyses and accurate decision-making.
  • Perform precise calculations including quotation analyses, cross-referencing information with the client's database, and presenting the results of those analyses.
  • Develop analytical reports and support materials for the Procurement department, proactively identifying improvement opportunities based on the data.
  • Generate insights from analyzed data, recommending new quotation packages, supporting decisions, and assisting negotiations when necessary.
  • Work with large volumes of information, ensuring quality, consistency, and agility in analyses.
  • Use the client's corporate systems, quickly adapting to business flows and rules.
  • Validate the monthly results reported by the client by cross-checking data and conducting internal audits of the closing figures.
  • Be open to spending part of the time acting as a mid-level Buyer, developing in the role and taking responsibility for a purchasing group, suppliers, and identifying cost-reduction opportunities.

Requirements

  • Excel – Advanced level
  • Experience in data analysis and interpretation
  • Ability to transform information into analyses, KPIs, and results
  • Analytical profile with logical reasoning and attention to detail
  • Understanding of the buyer's role within an organization
  • Knowledge, particularly of the routines of a buyer in indirect procurement
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Procurement (especially in indirect procurement)
  • Understanding of negotiation dynamics and purchasing processes, providing support when necessary
  • Familiarity with typical procurement metrics and information (spend, savings, supplier base, contracts, management of purchase requisitions (inbound and outbound), service level/fulfillment performance, etc.)
  • Experience with enterprise systems
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and internal tools
  • Knowledge/experience with SAP, preferably SAP HANA (a plus)
  • Experience extracting and analyzing data from SAP (a plus)
