About the role

  • Senior Partner overseeing Financial Crime Compliance assurance framework and activities at BOQ Group. Responsible for strategic oversight and independent assurance of AML/CTF and risk management controls.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for designing, executing, and continually enhancing the Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) Assurance Framework.
  • Provides strategic oversight and independent assurance over the effectiveness of the bank’s AML/CTF, Sanctions, and Tax Transparency controls.
  • Ensures assurance activities deliver clear, risk‑based insights that strengthen the organisation’s financial crime risk management capabilities.
  • Leads the development and execution of the annual FCC Assurance Program, including risk‑based planning and resource allocation.
  • Oversees and conducts complex thematic reviews to identify systemic risks and validate the remediation and closure of significant FCC issues.
  • Synthesises and presents assurance outcomes to executive management and governance committees.

Requirements

  • Multiple years of experience across financial crime compliance, assurance, or audit within banking or financial services.
  • Proven track record in designing, implementing, and managing Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) assurance frameworks and programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of AML/CTF legislation, AUSTRAC guidance, and industry best practices across sanctions and tax transparency.
  • Experience in leading teams and mentoring junior staff.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and professional certifications such as CAMS, ICA, CA/CPA, or equivalent.
