About the role

  • Senior Partner in Financial Crime Compliance leading risk assessment and regulatory engagement for BOQ Group. Overseeing policies and compliance with AML/CTF obligations within the financial services sector.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the Group-wide financial crime compliance framework.
  • Responsible for risk assessments, policy, governance, training, regulatory engagement and internal communications.
  • Oversee key financial crime policies including AML/CTF, sanctions and tax transparency.
  • Support executive and Board-level oversight of the financial crime risk profile.
  • Lead a small team of financial crime specialists.
  • Design, review, and refine risk assessment methodologies and policy standards in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Establish forums to oversee methodology changes and partner with learning teams for financial crime training.

Requirements

  • 6 to 8 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Deep, practical expertise in financial crime compliance.
  • Strong and detailed understanding of AML/CTF obligations, AUSTRAC guidance and evolving regulatory reforms.
  • Hands-on experience in designing, implementing and governing AML/CTF risk assessment methodologies.
  • Clear understanding of regulatory expectations and best practice.
  • Extensive experience within banking and financial services environments, including models leveraging third parties.
  • Experience chairing governance committees and preparing high-quality Risk Committee papers.
  • Comfortable operating in a senior governance and advisory capacity.
