About the role
- Intern supporting product management for accessory components at BMW Group. Engaging in development projects and collaborating with product managers in testing and documentation activities.
Responsibilities
- You support the product managers for special accessories on subprojects in the development process of products such as M Performance exterior add-on parts made from fiber composite materials (e.g., rear spoilers, diffusers), interior components, and transport products.
- You also participate in creating installation instructions in cooperation with external service providers, including step-by-step documentation as well as reviewing and improving documents after creation.
- Furthermore, you accompany the product managers in day-to-day operations and, for example, take part in wind tunnel measurements or validation drives at BMW’s in-house test facility in Aschheim.
- In addition, you support pedestrian protection qualification tests and homologation tests and may perform transport runs with vehicles from the M Performance vehicle pool.
- You also take part in crash-substitute tests with carrier/support systems, gaining an understanding of whole-vehicle and component stresses under crash loads, which rounds off your varied range of tasks.
Requirements
- Enrolled in Industrial Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable degree program.
- In the second half of a Bachelor’s/Diploma program or enrolled in a Master’s program.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Valid driver’s license (Class B).
