About the role

  • Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Justice Division of Oregon, investigating and prosecuting financial crimes and organized criminal enterprises.

Responsibilities

  • Investigating and prosecuting complex financial crimes and organized criminal enterprises.
  • Prosecuting other criminal activity, including homicide and other persons crimes.
  • Evaluating and pursuing criminal cases, including conflict and specialty cases.
  • Providing advice and support to district attorneys and their deputies.
  • Presenting at trainings across the state.

Requirements

  • Active member of the Oregon State Bar in good standing on the effective date of appointment.
  • Five or more years practicing law as an attorney.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of criminal and evidence codes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with people from a variety of disciplines (e.g., state agency personnel, law enforcement officers, county prosecutors, etc.).
  • Excellent organization, analytical, oral presentation and advocacy, and writing skills.
  • Experience training prosecutors and/or law enforcement.
  • Willing and able to travel throughout the state and nation, sometimes overnight, to meet case, training, and outreach needs.
