About the role
- Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Justice Division of Oregon, investigating and prosecuting financial crimes and organized criminal enterprises.
Responsibilities
- Investigating and prosecuting complex financial crimes and organized criminal enterprises.
- Prosecuting other criminal activity, including homicide and other persons crimes.
- Evaluating and pursuing criminal cases, including conflict and specialty cases.
- Providing advice and support to district attorneys and their deputies.
- Presenting at trainings across the state.
Requirements
- Active member of the Oregon State Bar in good standing on the effective date of appointment.
- Five or more years practicing law as an attorney.
- Demonstrated knowledge of criminal and evidence codes.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with people from a variety of disciplines (e.g., state agency personnel, law enforcement officers, county prosecutors, etc.).
- Excellent organization, analytical, oral presentation and advocacy, and writing skills.
- Experience training prosecutors and/or law enforcement.
- Willing and able to travel throughout the state and nation, sometimes overnight, to meet case, training, and outreach needs.
