About the role

  • Associate Director Global Investigations at BioNTech performing compliance investigations and strengthening adherence to ethical standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal compliance investigations into allegations of harassment, discrimination, fraud, corruption, and other potential or actual misconduct.
  • Document investigation activities thoroughly and accurately in English and German, and report findings to the Senior Director, Global Investigations to mitigate risk and strengthen the compliance culture.
  • Further develop and oversee BioNTech’s global investigations process, including updating policies, procedures, investigation templates, and effective investigation strategies.
  • Maintain and enhance the whistleblower system, ensuring confidentiality and professional case handling.
  • Ensure BioNTech’s compliance with global ethical standards and regulatory requirements for the protection of reporting persons.
  • Design and deliver investigations and Speak‑Up awareness training and campaigns with global reach.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and partner teams to uphold compliance and ethical standards and to facilitate the conduct of compliance investigations.
  • Manage external service providers, such as management consultancies (Big Four) and law firms, for structured handling of compliance investigations when required.

Requirements

  • Degree in economics, law, or a related field, with a focus on compliance and/or internal investigations.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience leading and conducting internal compliance investigations, preferably in an international environment.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with a strong service mentality, integrity, and independence.
  • Discretion and team spirit to collaborate reliably and protect the interests of all parties involved.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking to derive sustainable measures and assess complex issues.
  • Fluent in English and German; additional languages (e.g., Chinese) are a plus.
