About the role

  • Agricultural Consultant specializing in pig farming for Bioland, advising and networking agricultural enterprises. Collaborating on projects and training events focused on organic pig farming in Baden-Württemberg.

Responsibilities

  • You support, advise, and connect agricultural enterprises with pig farms
  • You conduct training events and participate in projects related to pigs
  • Guidance, advisory services, and networking for pig farms
  • Participation in pig-farming projects, e.g. GeSchwInD conversion advisory services for pig farms
  • Recruitment of pig-owning farms for Bioland
  • Design and delivery of educational events
  • Preparation of farm business analyses
  • Writing technical information for member farms and participation in specialist committees and trade fairs
  • Interface to marketers of organic pigs

Requirements

  • Strong affinity for organic farming, ideally with practical experience
  • Enthusiasm for all topics related to pigs
  • Degree in Agricultural Sciences (FH/University), a master farmer qualification, or an equivalent qualification
  • Ideally some first experience in agricultural advisory services
  • Confident manner, good communication skills, and a good rapport with farmers
  • Enjoyment of organizing a variety of event formats
  • Independent and structured way of working
  • Enjoyment of sharing knowledge through presentations and articles
  • Willingness to travel for work (valid driver’s license required) for advisory work, projects, and events
